This is guidance, not a lab

SpaScanner reads a photo of a test strip next to the pack chart. Lighting, an old stick, a crumpled pack, or a wrong volume can throw the numbers off. If the app asks you to retake the photo, do that instead of guessing.

If the chemical pack, spa booklet, or a trained technician says something different, follow them.

Stay out when the water is not ready

Do not get in during first fill until you have shocked, waited, and balanced as the app and the pack describe.

Stay out if chlorine is too high, the water looks slimy, cloudy, or foamy in a way that worries you, or the app tells you to wait after adding a chemical (typically at least 2 hours between different chemical types, and 24 hours after shock unless the pack says otherwise).

Chemicals can harm

Never mix chemicals together. Add them to water, not the other way round, as the pack says. Keep them dry, labelled, and away from children and pets.

Wash your hands after handling. If someone swallows a chemical or gets it in their eyes, follow the pack’s first-aid advice and get medical help.

Your spa, your responsibility

You are responsible for how you treat the water and who uses the tub. We provide software and published-table estimates. We do not inspect your spa.
