Does it work with any brand of test strip?
Yes. Hold the wet test strip against the colour chart printed on that pack so each pad lines up with its row. SpaScanner reads the numbers on those boxes. It does not use a memorised Bestway or AquaChek scale.
Is this only for Lay-Z-Spa?
UK Lay-Z-Spa inflatables come first: model litres and dose guidance follow that UK guide. Similar Bestway inflatables can use a matching litre figure. Other inflatable brands may follow later. We do not treat this as a rigid spa or inground pool app.
What if the app and the chemical pack disagree?
Follow the pack. SpaScanner will not guess an amount when it cannot calculate one safely.
How do I share the spa with family?
The spa owner needs SpaScanner Plus to send an invite. They email a link or share it on WhatsApp. The family member opens it, creates an account or logs in, skips spa setup, and lands on the same dashboard. Journal on SpaScanner Plus follows the owner’s account.
What is SpaScanner Plus?
New starters get 7 days of full access: from the fill date on first fill, or straight away if the spa is already filled. After that, SpaScanner Free is five complete reads a month. SpaScanner Plus is £19.99 for the first year, then £14.99 a year to renew for use-day tests, the journal, household invites, reminders, and full history. One SpaScanner Plus account on the spa owner covers household partners.
Do retake photos count toward the SpaScanner Free limit?
No. If we cannot read the photo safely, that attempt does not count. Only a complete read uses the SpaScanner Free allowance after first fill.
